Projects in Bloom…
Landscape design projects in development, from early concept sketches
and site planning to detailed drawings and refined 3D visualizations.
Carpinteria Farmhouse
Two design studies shaping a rural landscape for years of everday living and memory making.
A California coastal farmhouse refreshed for a young family creating their forever home. During the conceptual phase, we explored multiple design directions to study both aesthetic language and spatial organization. Stone Harvest draws from Santa Barbara’s regional landscape, leaning into the use of stone to reinforce a grounded, rural character. Cali Classic takes a more contemporary approach, using clean lines and soft meadow plantings to create a calm, open atmosphere that feels light, peaceful, and refreshing.
Montecito Ranch Home
Enhancing a classic ranch home into a tranquil retreat
This sweet ranch home in the hills of Montecito was in need of some activation. The backyard, while spacious, was in need of some entertainment zones. The clients were curious about how they could help add some activation features and enhance their existing planting. With 2 mature Canary Island Date Palms punctuating the property, they wanted to see what would help highlight these sculptural trees while still fitting into the Santa Barbara context. Here, were studied 2 layout options with different planting directions. Study A utilizes prairie-style planting to act as a backdrop, giving the specimens room to shine. Study B leaned into a full specimen garden, bringing in vibrant colors and more low-water sculptural plants to add company to the existing collection.
Memory Lane
An East Coast Dream Space
This Connecticut home was ready for its backyard glow-up. We reimagined the outdoor space to balance carefree play with resort-style relaxation, seamlessly weaving in a new pool house, pool, and spa while preserving a wide-open lawn for kids to run, play, and kick a ball until sunset. Lush, layered plantings carve out cozy moments and natural privacy, turning what was once an empty yard into a dreamy summer escape built for long days and golden evenings.
Mammoth Mountain Getaway
More space to bask in the alpenglow…
Set within the volcanic and glacial landscape of Mammoth Lakes, this compact front yard was reconfigured to reflect the region’s rugged geology and alpine character. Design studies centered on preserving and reusing existing site boulders, treating them as foundational elements rather than obstacles, echoing the exposed rock fields and erratic formations found throughout the Eastern Sierra. An expanded front entry and lounge patio establish a functional threshold between home and mountain environment, creating a durable, low-maintenance space designed for post-adventure gathering after long ski days or mountain bike rides.
Paradise Valley Perch
An condo canvas for bold, color-driven daydreams.
The client sought rapid visioning to introduce warmth, texture, and personality into an otherwise pristine interior. Through a series of fast, expressive sketches, we explored multiple design trajectories—each aimed at transforming the space from minimal and neutral to layered and expressive.
Concept studies highlighted sculptural cacti, vibrant succulents, kinetic grasses, and curated decorative objects, drawing directly from the Sonoran Desert’s palette and forms. These explorations provided clear visual direction, equipping the homeowners with a confident framework for furnishing and styling their space with intention.
